B17
I had the awesome opportunity to fly in a WWII B-17G Flying Fortress during its visit to Calgary for the 2012 Aviation Calgary Expo. “Sentimental Journey” came off the Douglas assembly line in late 1944 and served in the Pacific near the end of the war. The plane is displayed from late Fall to Spring each year at an Arizona hangar before it leaves on summer tour. The plane now visits an average of 60 cities and towns across the United States each year as a patriotic and educational exhibit. There were 12,731 B-17 bombers built from 1936-1945 of which only about five are still flying today. Photos by CHRIS BOLIN for The Globe and Mail.
SAIT – Aldred Centre
I photographed the newly opened “Aldred Centre” at SAIT in Calgary, AB. The largest of three buildings in SAIT’s new Trades and Technology Complex the Aldred Centre is more than 440,000 square feet and located along the south side of 16 Avenue NW. Beautiful building with the coolest roof you have ever seen. Here are a few shots I did for a magazine in Vancouver.
Hotel California – Up! Magazine
Here is a larger edit of my travel shoot in Mexico for Up! Magazine and WestJet Airlines. I went down to shoot Don Felder with the Eagles in LA and then returned a week later to shoot the ‘Hotel California” in Todos Santos Baja Mexico. You can check out the digital copy of the magazine here: http://cdn1.upmagazine.com/up-digital-issues/up_may_2012/index.html
UP ! Magazine May Edition
After a great assignment in both LA and Mexico back in February for Up! Magazine and WestJet airlines the final piece has come out. Here is the final pdf layout version that will be in every seat back of every WestJet flight on Monday for the next month. I went down to shoot Don Felder with the Eagles and then returned a week later to Mexico to shoot the ‘Hotel California” in Todos Santos Baja Mexico. Check out the printed version on your next flight or on-line. I got cover, and 8 pages inside. I will post more images in the following blog of the trip.
